United We Stand! Or Do We?

America, are ready for the hard questions, touch choices, long nights, and exhausting inclusiveness that make up the back bone of a socially strong society? The answer is yes and no. Yes, because we are already doing it. And no, because we are not doing it in unison. And that is America's biggest pit fall. Instead of giving our effort and seeing results, we instead exhaust our efforts and have very, very, VERY little to show for it.
We don't need a radical change to be comforted by change. I know over the past few years there has been much debate on the subject of national health care.(I will not cheap'n it by referring to it as "Obama-Care".) Many people believe one thing, and many more believe another. Some say it will be our curse, other think it will be our saving grace. I know one thing for sure, a lot of wasted energy has gone into both sides of the argument and A LOT of material as been excessively ignored because of this debate. Based off this one issue America has been so divided that our government was literally shut down. I know many people believe that Republicans are all to blame, and maybe they are. But I ask you, where were the other congressman. Did they stay home until the Republicans let them come back to work? How can everyone be so accepting of these types of catastrophes without protesting in the street?
This is a PRIME example of how divided we are as a country and quiet we are to what is actually the most important issues. As a country of power we stand in the eyes our neighbors without even trying. We are the ultimate unseen butterfly affect because we do not see the significance of our tiniest actions. As a society we fly around and flap our wings not truly trying to exist as a unity. Yet we are so connected that we would be fools to say our lives are not as one.
We THE PEOPLE are the heart beat of our country. And, we are what the world looks at when they judge us. Every bad decision America makes is blamed on us, THE PEOPLE.  We, in return,  love to blame our congressman, but maybe blame it's self is the culprit. We choose to assign blame rather than assign hope. We hide from blame rather than have courage for what is right. We use blame as a weapon rather than meet each other in the middle. Blame is not a helpful term because it gives us all a since of comfort and self assured-ness we don't desire.
To blame someone of something is equivalent to reading a piece of paper containing subject of blame and then filing it in a folder labeled "Not My Fault". If you are a good person that is great. If you are loyal and loving to your family that is wonder. If seek to appreciate life& nature and not be victimized by media & advertisements then you are definitely seeing the bigger picture of the world and I 100% applaud you. But none of the amazing qualities that i have stated address those pieces of paper we have placed in our "Not My Fault" folder. Most of the things an average or even above average person does on a daily basis has nothing to do with what is necessary for us to fix our country and how we can further preserve what is so special about America.
In closing I offer you a thought. If today was the first day of your turn to make a law, what law would you make, where would you start, who would you help and how would you help them. This type of thinking and these types of questions should be our ground zero for true change.
